Membership Activities:
Between 1950 and 1989, engineering activities in Hungary were confined almost exclusively to state-owned companies, large and medium firms. From 1990, economic and political changes have transformed radically the sphere of intellectual enterprise, so that engineering and architectural firms employing 5 to 30 people form the majority today.
As a result of this restructuring process, accompanied by quality based selection and concentration of interests and capital, medium sized firms have emerged, with no state or municipality participation, organised and directed by ral owners and capable of competing with Consulting Engineers form industrially developed countries.
In May of 1197, the National Association of Consulting Firms (TEVOSZ) ceased its independent activities and the majority of its members accounting for a significant intellectual potential, passed to AHCEA membership. Since privatisation process has been fully completed, this step meant that a unified professional Association was created, capable of competing on the free market with other Consultants of FIDIC and EFCA members, both in Hungarian and international tendering procedures.
