Membership:

FIDIC comprise on January 1st, 1998, 65 member organisations, one in each country, recognised by the respective governments as well. Hungarian membership dates back to 1934, when the first association, called "Corporation of Hungarian Consultants" and founded by independent engineers, was admitted to FIDIC and worked as its member association up to 1949.

After an interruption of more than 40 years, the Association was reorganised with the moral support of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers and that of Architects, under the name of Association of Hungarian Consulting Engineers and Architects (AHCEA), incorporated on April 23, 1992. AHCEA was granted FIDIC membership at the Madrid General Assembly Meeting, on June 3, 1992, whereas the European Federation of Consultancy Associations and Architects (EFCA), admitted AHCEA among its members on June 14, 1996, in Stockholm.
